Our Pipeline Contractor Services Include Pipebursting

Pipebursting is a trenchless method of replacing existing underground pipelines, such as the water, sewer, or natural gas pipes. This method can be used when the original pipeline burst while new pipe is being simultaneously pulled into place. We use the Grundocrack System, manufactured by T.T. Technologies, Inc. During construction, a sewer bypass system process involves:

Setting it up by plugging the line at an existing upstream manhole
Diverting the flow to a down stream manhole of adjacent sanitary sewer
Determining the pump(s) and bypass piping are of adequate size and capacity to handle flows
Cleaning the sewer main
Inspecting it via video for the purpose of locating active service lines

For main line pipe bursting:

Disconnecting the service laterals to prevent damage to the existing lateral
Minimizing surface disturbance by strategically locating entry and exit pits
Locating equipment used to perform the work away from buildings to minimize noise impact
Installing pulleys, rollers, bumpers, and alignment control devices as necessary to protect existing manholes and pipes from damage
Centering the winch line in the pipe to be burst with adjacent boom
Pulling the burst pipelines and new pipe into place
Installing pipes to relax the pipe for a period of not less than 4 hours
Reconnecting active services to the new HDPE pipe with Inserta-Tees
