Video Inspection
Video inspection is essential for assessing the condition of the pipe to determine if replacement is required, or, if not, which rehabilitation method would provide the most cost-effective remedy.
Technology

Inspection is performed using a specially designed CCTV camera with pan and tilt viewing capabilities.
The camera, mounted on a self-propelled transporter, is remotely controlled from the TV van. Camera controls also provide the ability to overlay alpha-numeric data on the video image to provide a great deal of information, including date, line ID and distance from manhole.

The image is transmitted to the van and recorded on VHS tape. At the same time, coded data is entered into a computer. When the inspection is complete, a data log containing a comprehensive pipeline profile and evaluation is printed to accompany each video.
