Our Pipeline Contractor Services Include Smoke Testing to Identify Inflow or Infiltration Problems
Smoke testing is one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways to locate and identify the source of an inflow or infiltration problem. Once the source of the problem is identified, you will know how serious it is, what effect it has had on the efficiency of the wastewater treatment facility, and the cost to remediate.
Smoke used for the operation:
- Is non-toxic
- Leaves no residuals
- Will not stain
- Has no effect on plants or animals
- Has a distinctive, but not unpleasant odor
- Is visible for only minutes
- Is performed with proper ventilation
Before we perform the smoke testing, homeowners are notified with door hangers hung on their entrance door 24 hours in advance of any activity. Police, Fire and City personnel are notified daily of the location of where smoke testing will take place.
