Annular Space Grouting is used in conjunction with Sliplining applications, including pipeline abandonment. A proper sliplining project must be grouted to avoid the potential for continued soil and water infiltration into the annulus between the newly “lined” pipe and the host pipe, which causes voids or sink holes at ground elevation. The grout mixture used is cellular concrete, which is the only acceptable material. This mixture flows freely to fill the entire annulus and any voids which may exist around the host pipe. The grout mix must be pumped at a low PSI to avoid damage to the new pipe liner. Typical pumping pressures cannot exceed 5 PSI, depending on the pipe liner material.
